Ten Rotarians from the San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club and nine of their family members traveled to Ensenada on January 6 to take part in the annual "Fish Across the Border" project in conjunction with Mexico's Feast of the Three Kings celebration. The group was joined by Rotarians and friends from the Rotary Clubs of Avalon, Vista, Montebello and San Diego (Club 33).

The organizer and host of the event was Club Rotario Ensenada Centenaria. On Friday evening, the group packed more than 1,000 food baskets and loaded them, in addition to 1,000 pre-packaged food baskets and 1,000 blankets and toys, into vehicles. On Saturday morning, they distributed these items to more than 1,000 pre-selected individuals at 12 sites in and around Ensenada.

In the afternoon, the host club treated Rotarians and other volunteers to food and drink at a fiesta held at the home of Rotarian Dr. Eloy Perez and his wife, Chara. Many thanks to our club's International Service Committee, and to Gary and Carol McElroy, for this heartwarming, humanitarian and fun experience.
