Jim Ponder, CEO spoke about the importance of building healthy relationships in business. Jim shared with us his story about the crushing financial blow he took both personally and professionally when his financing fell through on a start up company during the down fall of the dot com boom in the early 2000’s. Although he suffered financially he realized that his salvation was going to come from the relationships he had forged and the personal contacts he had made.
He stressed that in building good strong business relationships, we need to practice at being good listeners when we are engaged with someone. He explained that it is important to hear what “our customers” are saying and that in the end, “chemistry and likability is what is going to get you the deal.”
