PAUL HARRIS PRESENTATION
Jack Gilbert and his brother (who traveled from England) accepted a Paul Harris Fellow in memory of and dedicated to their kind, honest, and hard-working father. Their touching tribute to their father was heartfelt and exemplified the attributes of what a Paul Harris fellow is all about. Their father's memory will live on and the financial contributions of the Gilberts has helped benefit the lives of three other people in the world. There is no better legacy.
THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM
Our speaker this week was Ruben Barrales from the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Barrales is fresh off a long stint with the White House and has only been in San Diego for nine months. His goal is to provide better advocacy for our region in Washington who doesn't always hear our concerns. Mr. Barrales recounted his days as a dot.com guru in Silicon Valley. The Chamber consists of approximately 60 individual staff members who advocate on behalf of small businesses. Mr. Barrales wants to work on better relationships with other chamber organizations to provide a more focused and energized advocacy group and enable better networking opportunities.
