Jonathan Stone took collection for Ace of Hearts fundraiser. 7 tix remain. Paul Marsh took his first family vacation to East LA…en route to Napa. Gary Green seems to be confused between his Merrill broker Ajay Gupta and our newest club member Ajay Gupta. Need to clarify; did he pick up Ajay’s laundry? Why? Maureen Eberle talked of her Bolivia trip w/members of other regional rotary clubs. Rotary brings water to mountain town. Midway Gala nets $400,000 for WWII Museum and Midway Museum. WWII Metal of Honor Winners honored. Melissa Chapman recently moved the Chapman Collection upstairs in Horton Plaza next to Brazilian restaurant. A back-breaking experience!
Jeff Perwin announced his republican candidacy for State Senate. He is a district republican leader and currently on the Linda Vista town council.

San Diego has from a navy and fishing town with a new university 30 years ago to the top biotech cluster in the nation. While tuna industry collapsed and the military presence is precarious, biotech on as grown with UCSD on the Torrey Mesa.
LA Times called our biotech cluster “a cradle of invention.” The most powerful force of biotech growth is due to the tight geographic proximity and the relationship with UCSD. A synergistic relationship has developed between academia and entrepreneurial creativity.
