THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

District Governor Pam RussellOur guest speaker, District Governor Pam Russell was introduced by David Breeding of Fallbrook. As the first female typewriter repair person, Pam moved up the ranks at IBM. This brought her to San Diego where she began her involvement with Rotary.  Pam, alum of Pacific Lutheran University, began her speech with a quiet motion of a heartbeat. She announced that 26,000 children die from preventable diseases each day. But with Rotary, we will make dreams real for these children – fighting hunger, promoting literacy, and providing the essentials of clean water and medical care. The rotary tools that make this possible include our members and club/district activities. And, she described the Rotary Foundation as the fuel for Rotary’s success. Pam both encouraged and challenged our club to have the best year ever, and keep our rotary heart beat strong.
