The NTC Promenade is located at the former Naval Training Center in Point Loma. With 28 acres of beautifully renovated Spanish Revival architecture, NTC Promenade is “repurposing” the beloved campus where more than 2 million military personnel were trained, dating back to 1923. Many veterans return to the site of their former boot camp, pleased that it is being methodically restored as a flagship destination for arts, culture, science and technology.
Known as “Dutch Flats” in 1923, “Liberty Station” today comprises 26 buildings built from 1923-1941. Redevelopment is occurring in stages, as money allows and is raised. Current resident groups include multiple dance companies at Dance Place San Diego, theater companies, martial arts, educational groups, multi-disciplinary arts, and museums and galleries. Open seven days a week, NTC Promenade offers dozens of weekly classes and a variety of programs for everyone. Large meeting and event spaces can accommodate community and charity events.
