THIS WEEK'S SPEAKER
Sandra Schrift introduced Bob Goff, CEO of Restore International. He spearheaded projects in Uganda to stem human trafficking. He started his presentation by recalling a car crash in which his Jeep was totalled and was quite upbeat about it. He approaches life with the attitude that when things happen, you might be inclined to buckle up (he wasn't wearing a seat belt) but life is to be lived less buckled. He told us how he basically begged his way into law school by relentlessly sitting outside the dean's office until the dean told him to go buy his books. He is reminded everyday of how words of life like, "go buy your books" can change your world and encourages everyone to extend words of life to others. He spoke of his creative parenting techniques and generally entertained us with stories of his life. It was entertaining to say the least and very thought provoking.
