The 2012 Holes for Heroes™ Fundraiser is coming Friday, October 12, 2012 to "Fort Lomas" (aka Lomas Santa Fe CC, Solana Beach)!
Over the past five years Holes for Heroes has netted almost $400,000 for military--serving charities and other humanitarian projects. Our region is one of the largest combined military complexes in the U.S., with more marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and other war zones than others. As a result, our region experiences more of the pain resulting from combat fatalities, wounded Heroes and the resulting stress to the families of our deployed military. Holes for Heroes is a trusted opportunity for our community to show its support for and say 'Thank you' to our local wounded heroes, deployed troops, children and families of deployed troops, those Killed In Action (KIAs) and homeless veterans by:
helping ease the pain of our returning wounded warriors at Balboa Hospital, other military facilities and sufferers of 'PTSD' via the ASYMCA and Service for Humanity Foundation
supporting front line troops, our local military families and the children of deployed warriors via Operation CareGiver, Homefront SD, Camp Pendleton ASYMCA & Operation "BIGS"
assisting Veterans Village of San Diego in its effort to help San Diego's homeless and recovering veterans and families
remembering the children and families of our fallen heroes via Guide On
supporting humanitarian projects via the San Diego Downtown Breakfast Club Foundation
Holes for Heroes is recognized as one of San Diego's most deserving, rewarding and visible military fundraisers: 100 wounded and combat veteran heroes have attended Holes for Heroes providing the opportunity for the participants and community at--large the unique opportunity to say Thank You. – up close and personal. Many military participants are amputees and two (2) heroes have been nominated for Medal of Honor.
