of the San Diego Downtown
Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation,

to participate in our 7th
Annual Scramble Golf Event – Holes
for Heroes 2008, one
of San Diego’s most
deserving, rewarding and
visible fundraiser events. Holes
for Heroes provides
your organization an excellent
opportunity to help our:
- “Hurting Heroes” recovering at Balboa and Camp Pendleton hospitals in partnership with Rescue Task Force and Wounded Warriors Battalion (West);
- Children and families of deployed warriors with United Through Reading San Diego and Home Front San Diego;
- Hurting homeless veterans in partnership with Veterans’ Village of San Diego (VVSD);
- Children and families of fallen heroes in partnership with Fueled by the Fallen; and
- Supporting various Rotary projects
serving San Diego and beyond.
I know
there is no shortage of
worthy fundraisers and
golf events seeking your
support. However, none, I
believe, will provide you
a more meaningful and highly
visible opportunity to say “THANK
YOU!” to our local
wounded military heroes and
heroines, to their families
in need and to homeless recovering
veterans of past wars. Holes
for Heroes will
receive high TV, radio and
print media coverage.
100% of the
proceeds raised for our military
will go directly to support
military personnel and families
in our region.
Our region has more military
service men and women deployed
to Iraq, Afghanistan and
other war zones than other
regions. As a result, our
region experiences more of
the pain resulting from combat
fatalities, wounded warriors
and the resulting stresses
to the families of our deployed
military personnel. It is
our desire along with your
generous help and support,
to show our commitment and
thanks to our local military
through Holes
for Heroes.
