THIS WEEK'S MEETING
Prez Colette called to order the final meeting of her administration. Jose Hernandez led the pledge of allegiance, Ron Erbetta read inspirational sayings by Eleanor Roosevelt, and Linda Jalving led an unintentionally polytonal rendition of "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover."
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Gary
Green introduce our guests, including visiting Rotarians from Club 33 and Ghana.
Carol Jensen introduced two recent graduates from Francis Parker School who have helped with tutoring.
Ron Erbetta reported that the upcoming visits to the aircraft carrier are full. (Thanks, Ron, and thank you to Joe Ciokon for opening up a few more spots.)
Jennifer Cusick reported on the International Services Committee donation for El Salvador relief and the postponement of our matching grant request to help create a Grameen-style bank in Ecuador.
Martin Blair announced an August 11 mixer in North County with Rotaract, so hold that date.
rotarians
of the month
Prez Colette awarded April Rotarian-of-the-month awards to co-winners John Bruhn and Don Lang.
up-coming meeting schedule
Remember -- the Demotion Party is the evening of June 20, so the morning meeting is "dark," and the June 27 breakfast meeting is off-site at the San Diego Natural History Museum. (As an aside, this reporter is presently on the Board of Directors for the museum. Although I will be out of town that week, I proudly recommend that you attend that off-site meeting and see the wonderful new addition to the museum.) The 4th of July is Dark for the holiday. So we will not be back at the University Club until July 11th.
NO FINES. FINES? FINES!
Sgt. Pauline was absent, so there were no fines from the podium, but we made up for that by fines from the floor.
