Tuesday Night’s (11/12/02) Fireside Chat

15 new members were present and the Rotary Directors spoke to the new members about how to get involved in Rotary activities.

Upcoming Golf Tournament on 11/15/02

Many exciting awards will be available for winners of the tournament. Some of the awards include four $165 golf bags, a five wood, a wedge, and a sleeve of balls. There will be a dinner following.

Guests and Visitors

There were two women visiting from Romania. The women were starting their own Rotary Club for women, because to date, Romanian Rotary Clubs do not allow women to attend. So far, the women have seventy-five charter members.

Brags and Bitches

Linda’s jewelry store in La Jolla will donate one percent of all sales in December, to charity.

Induction

Shanta Chevli from Naples, Florida was inducted. Her parents are both Paul Harris Fellows.

Secret Santa Program

Drop off your gifts with Jennifer Cusick. The gifts will go to underprivileged children in Mexico, and encourages them to attend school. In order to receive gifts, the children must attend classes at least seventy five percent of the time.

November 19, 2002 Party

Colette Murray will be hosting a holiday party at her home.

Eric Graves (SPEAKER regarding the Holiday Bowl on December 27, 2002)

Mr. Graves is on the board of directors for the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. This will be the twenty fifth year for the Holiday Bowl. The first game was in 1978, between Navy and BYU. Since that time, there has been a history of great plays and legendary coaches.

The Holiday Bowl brings economic benefits to San Diego, with a total of $23 million dollars to date.

The Holiday Bowl opens with a wiener dog race, a Big Bay Balloon Parade (with 27 inflatable balloons), and approximately nine thousand spectators.

Holiday Bowl ticket prices increase on December 1, 2002 by $6.00, so buy them now.
