this week’s meeting
Meeting began promptly at 7:30 a.m. by Gary Green. Pledge of Alliance to the American Flag Stated By All. Barry Tobias had us do 30 seconds of silence for the innovation and was acknowledged by Father Pablo afterwards for this gift.
Announcements were made:
Ø Polio Plus donated Wheelchairs
Ø The Upcoming Fund Raiser – Please note that all members will be billed for $150 for two regular tickets to the fundraiser. If you would like to reserve the premium tables, you can also be billed through the regular quarterly billing. If you are bringing guests and you are paying for them, you can be billed. If your guests are paying, they should make out their check to the San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary or VISA and Mastercharge will be accepted. Please make reservations by emailing jensencm@aol.com.
Ø Ron Erbetta has been selected as the Club’s President-elect for Frank’s term, and to serve as President for the 2004-05 Rotary Year

Ø Induction of Two New Rotarians – Jay Sener and David Buro (pictured here). Mike Sisson introduced them and gave a nice summary of why Rotary started. It started in 1905 by Paul Harris who was an attorney. He was looking for a blend of Friendship and Business to enhance the workday. Our current projects are the TJ Homebuilding Program, Christmas Program, and Stand Down for Vets, Community Health Care and affiliation with Rotaract Club.
Ø Pete McGuire next announced the guest and visiting Rotarians.
Ø Melissa Stone made an announcement regarding the Rotaract Event on March 27th
Ø Rick Logan announced the Home Building in Mexico for April 26th. The limit is 24 people, so sign up early. The bus will leave at 7 am from Old Town.
Ø Nancy from Community Services mad the announcement that on April 12 the Repaint the Teen Center will be meeting at the Qualcomm Stadium.
Ø Linda Fox announced that the Fund Raiser Committee would be meeting this afternoon at 501 West Broadway.
Ø President Elect Frank announced that the District Assembly meeting is on April 5th from 7:30 to Noon.

Ø Jennifer Grebing, International Chairperson brought up Victor Carmona from Friends helping Friends, Father Pablo, Wilhem from La Iglesia de San Eugenio plus Mike Mascari from Serving Hands International and T. J. Barnes International Assistant Chairperson. A presentation was given and Mr. Marscai graciously accepted three checks in the amount $49,635.00. Father Pablo then described the Center and what good this facility will be for the community.

Lynn Hamilton announced our Speaker – Kit Lavell who spoke on current and his six part series of “ A Revolution in Warfare: Defending America in the 21st Century. He was very inspiring and gave great insight into technological warfare of the future.
