THIS WEEK’S SPEAKER

District Governor Mike Stelman And His Wife, Karen

Assistant District Governor Clara Harris introduced our guest speaker Mike Stelman and his wife Karen.  Mike acknowledged our President Frank and Military Liaison Joe and gave them both a gift on behalf of the District.  He also acknowledged his wife who comes with him to all of his presentations and is a long time Rotary member as well.

Mike reviewed the 2003-2004 goals of Rotary International and of our District’s activities to support those goals.  International goals include addressing health concerns, poverty, literacy and promoting the Rotary family.  District goals include promoting local rotary clubs, Polio Eradication project, achieving annual giving support of $125 per member, achieving membership growth of 7% and work on the Centennial Project.

Mike then asked the members to make an effort to look to the District for help and support.  He outlined tools available to help our club and referred to the District website (www.rotary5340.org).  He then concluded his remarks with a poem.

Frank then made a reminder announcement that we had a new speaker for next week.  Michael Slatoff will be speaking to us about the Dolphin Youth Program.  He then adjourned the meeting at 8:30 a.m. with his usual Thought of the Day.
