THIS WEEK’S SPEAKER

BARRY TOBIAS, a member of our Rotary Club, and traveler extraordinaire, owner of Breakaway Tours, which organizes tours for the theatre community, offered a fabulous written summary of Websites, and tips for travelers.  Click Here To Download.  Summarizing the highlights:

Deals: Travel “deals” are found best on the Web.  His favorite, and the “Barry Tobias Pick For the Best Starting Place on the Web”: Forbes Magazine: http://www.forbes.com/bow/b2c/section.jhtml?id=3.

How to search for deals: Search on the Web first for airfares - airlines will often match the fare quote. Don’t search just for San Diego starting point for the trip.  Use Expedia.

The best travel newspaper: LA Times.

Starting the trip: If going to or through LA, rent a car one-way.

Barry included and concluded with a few glimpses of his personal travel, including to Thailand.  Thank you, Barry!
