Our “Top of the Morning” meeting on St. Patrick’s Day started with President Frank’s customary Gooood Morrrrning!! call to order at 7:30 a.m., and our Pledge of Allegiance. Rose Dawson provided our benediction, with Irish poetry. Led by Jimmy Mulvaney, sporting a green bow tie, and his chorus, we sang Irish Eyes, and Danny Boy; Jim sang an Irish ballad.
Our Toastmaster, Charles, introduced our guests, including
Shelia Patel, Dr. Carol Banker, Michael Polind,
Brenda Nozan, and Cynthia Saner. Evan Papel, as
Rotaract President, introduced two other Rotaract members: Jeff Millier and Scott.

Ø Frank provided upcoming Rotary dates: 4/22 - 25: District Council Meeting 4/3: San Diego Gulls Hockey Game

Evan, as President of Rotaract advised that the
Rotaract event scheduled for 5/6 was for the benefit of the San Diego
Fireman’s Relief Fund. Jeff
Miller, International Chair, spoke concerning international efforts and relationship
building, and drew membership attention to the display and artifacts presented
by the African Sister-Rotaract group.
Ø Maureen Eberle reported on our Silent Auction items being contributed, including an autographed football.
Ø
Tim Montague described the preparation ongoing
for the May 1 fundraiser. “Gold
Sponsors” who are willing to contribute $1,000 are being solicited. To date, Alan Talbot’s firm, Procopio
Cory and Susan Davies offices have signed up.
Ø Ron Erbetta, as our President Elect, reported on items on District Council’s agenda and of import: He requested that photographs be submitted for the District web-site, which is operational: Rotary5340.org . March 27th will be a District Assembly.
