This Week’s Meeting

Frank (5 meetings left) De Francesco, our much revered president rang the bell promptly at 0735.  Warren Potts lead us in the pledge, right smartly too..

Larry Nuffer asked us to remember all the special people in our lives, past and present and also those serving so gallantly in Iraq.  Jim and Linda lead us in a rousing rendition of “A grand Old Flag”. Patriotism is a wonderful thing.  Mike Clarkson earned his fruit plate by introducing the guests and most of the members of Club 33.

Brags and Bitches

Ø      Gary Green is a grandfather, AGAIN, like he doesn’t already have enough to brag about.

Ø      TJ Barnes is making great headway with her enterprise that helps the hard of hearing. I would tell you more but that’s all I could hear.

This Week’s Speaker

Gary Green had the privilege of introducing our speaker, Dr. Batra, a most amazing Dr. and human being. Dr. Batra immigrated from India at a young age, was a captain in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and built a very successful career as a plastic surgeon.  He spoke of an organization that he and Dr. Michael Hall started. It is called D.O.C.S,  Doctors offering charitable services.  This organizations does most of it’s work in the San Diego and Northern Mexico area. Dr. Batra is a plastic surgeon and does this work gratis. Funds donated are used for equipment and supplies. We were all touched by the positive effect this Doctor and his organization has on the lives of many unfortunate people. He has certainly changed my opinion of plastic surgery.  They specialize in helping those who fall through the cracks of our medical system and have improved the lives of many people.

If you would like to learn more about D.O.C.S or make a contribution their website is WWW.docscharity.com
