this week’s speaker

Tim Montague introduced our speaker, James Langley, Vice Chancellor External Relations, UCSD.  Jim addressed the Club as if we were his or the university’s constituents and was reporting on our “Return on Investment” beginning with the original donation of 1,400 acres on the bluffs above La Jolla.  UCSD is returning billions to the community in high values economic development.  Of particular note was the description of the UCSD team studying a huge area of pollution in the Indian Ocean which is the largest single point sources of exported pollution matter to San Diego. Very good talk.
