This Week’s Speaker

Dwight Johnson, the President of the Shelter Island Rotary Club and a 40-year Rotarian, presented his entitled, The Transparent Leader.  TL profiles nineteen notable men who have shared the transparent side of their own lives.  It is much easier for men to be willing to be transparent when they have seen or read about others who have been honest about who they are and the problems they have had in their own lives.  This is particularly true when it is someone that has been or could be a role model, like many of the men in this book.  Each of the profiled men spent a great amount of time in their business and professional life searching for meaning and purpose. Every one of them concluded that true meaning in life was not to be found in wealth or power nor in accomplishment or success, but in spiritual growth.  The book is being dedicated to Tom Landry.
