CLUB ASSEMBLY
Today out program was a “state of the club” assembly, and we heard form the chairs of all of the various committees regarding our ongoing activities. We heard of so many successes that it is impossible to list them all, but the general overview is:
Ø Foundation – Ron Erbetta gave a history of the RI Foundation (which started with a $500 donation to help crippled children) and let us know that the total foundation donations over the years for Rotary are over $1.68 Billion! Our club has given approx. $194,000 dollars to the foundation since we chartered.
Ø Club Services – Our attendance is abour 56% for the year – which is better than last year’s 55% but isn’t good enough – Rotary actually required a 60% attendance – tell your delinquent friends to come to the club! Additionally, don’t forget to sign in when you arrive.
Ø Treasurer – Mike Whitehurst gave the rpoprt on the club’s finances for Don Lang – who is buried in tax returns. Don has been our treasurer for 8 years, and everything is in tip-top shape. Remember – if you make up a meeting at another club, you can get $5 rebate on your breakfast fees. So – make up your meetings!
Ø
Community Service – Bobbi Spinner-Flack
told of all the great work we’ve done in the community – from the
Veteran’s Stand down to the upcoming
Ø
International – Lynn Hamilton and Steve
Waterman shared all of the successes in international, including the matching
grant, Christmas drive in
Ø …what else to say – the club has had a great year – has great leaders and we’re looking forward to the coming year with Carol Jensen at the helm. Thanks all for your great work!
Next week’s meeting will feature Barbara Ayers, San Diego Fire Dept. CERT program. Have a great week!
