Rotaract Club of San Diego Antes Up To Raise Funds For Local Firemen

Young professionals throw charity casino bash to give back to the community

SAN DIEGOApril 6, 2004Begin counting your chips and prepare to ante up!  The Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego, a service and social organization of young professionals, is coordinating its second annual Ace of Hearts Casino Night at Sidebar, corner of 6th and Market, downtown, on May 6, 2004 at 7:00 pm.  Proceeds from the event will benefit The San Diego Fireman’s Relief Association Benevolent Fund. This fund provides assistance to both active and retired San Diego firefighters in times of extreme financial, emotional and medical distress. “Once again, the young professionals of Rotaract are joining forces with community leaders to make a difference in a fun atmosphere, and for a great cause,” says Evan Papel, president of the Rotaract Club.

Building upon the success of last year’s event, the Rotaract Club anticipates an even greater turnout this year.  The Ace of Hearts event will feature a Monte Carlo theme with various casino table games and a weekend casino getaway for the evening’s highest roller. Ticket prices are $20 for Rotaract and Rotary members and $25 for general admission, and are available by emailing info@SDRotaract.org or calling (877) 437-2735. Tickets will also be available for purchase at Ciro’s Pizzeria and Sidebar before the night of the event and the night of.

So come join the Rotaract Club in acknowledging the great sacrifices that San Diego firefighters make each day, and especially this year-fighting one of the largest blazes in San Diego County history. View the Rotaract website at www.sdrotaract.org for more information on the event or for details on becoming a sponsor and/or donating raffle prizes.
