First Annual Rotary Picnic And Barbeque
July 20, 2003 - 11:00am to 3:00pm
Model Yacht Pond, Mission Bay
Hi everyone! The Rotary BBQ is almost here, just a few
reminders and directions follow.
Please remember to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit
on. You may also want to bring sunblock. We will have bochy ball, volleyball, horseshoes, frisbees and
I'll bring a few kites and hulahoops for any kids. For planning purposes, is anyone bringing children under the
age of 6? If so, I will make sure
there are games or things for them to play with. You will be billed for the
event through your billing statements (thanks, Don!).
We will serve hot dogs, hamburgers, vegeburgers, chips,
fruit, bar-be-que beans, and dessert and we will also have water and soda. No
glass is allowed.
Here are the directions:
Via Sea World Drive:
Exit Sea World Drive from I-5 and head West. Follow the road signs for Ingraham
Street - you will have to veer off to the right. Once you have done this, get into the left lane and still
head towards Ingraham Street (the road signs will guide you). Once you pass over the bridge, you will
see the park/model yacht pond on your left. Turn Left on Vacation Road (signal) and then take an
immediate left (don't go into Paradise Point). Follow the road and you will drive right into the area. You
can turn either left or right for parking.
Via I-5:
If you want to bypass the Sea World crowd, take the
following directions which will take you through Pacific Beach (probably a
preferred route). From I-5, exit
Garnet/Grand and turn West at
Garnet (this is right if you are heading south on the 5 and left if you are
heading north on the 5). Go
straight and stay in the left lane (don't veer off to the right). Turn Left on Ingraham Street. Go straight for a few miles and then
turn right on Vacation Rd. Take
the immediate left (don't go into Paradise Point) and drive straight which will
take you to the area. You can then turn to the right or left for parking.
Good luck and see you there!! -Jennifer
