Betsy Brennan from the Downtown San Diego Partnership visited our club on September 30!

Did you know that our beautiful city center is called "America's Outdoors Downtown"? Spanning 385 blocks and home to 54,000 residents, it is a true economic powerhouse. Downtown accounts for 10% of all jobs in San Diego, 22% of regional spending, and a massive 47% of hotel revenue.

Betsy shared some incredibly exciting updates on the horizon, including the planned Arts and Design district, a proposed revamp of Civic Center Plaza, and TED Talks moving to the Convention Center in 2027—complete with large screens broadcasting the world-class speakers all over downtown!

We are incredibly proud of our club's local impact, too. Betsy gave a special shoutout to the Downtown San Diego Rotary for funding new tamperproof trash cans to keep our streets beautiful, and one of our members highlighted just how effective the Clean and Safe App has been in getting neighborhood issues addressed promptly.

Here's to a brighter, cleaner, and more vibrant Downtown San Diego!
