August 5 was an inspiring morning for the Rotary Club of Downtown San Diego as we heard from our new District Governor Jeb Bakke. Jeb shared his journey of initially joining Rotary for business networking, only to truly discover his passion for Rotary through service to others.
During his visit, Jeb highlighted key priorities for his term as District Governor:
- Expanding International Service: Encouraging clubs to engage in international service, with a focus on addressing critical needs right across our border.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Strengthening fiscal accountability and transparency at the district level.
We were also thrilled to see founding member Linda Jalving honored with the prestigious Gold Star Award for her outstanding dedication and leadership as Club Secretary and service to the Membership Committee.
